Brand History

NOMOS Glashütte

NOMOS was founded in Glashütte, Germany by Roland Schwertner in 1990, only two months after the fall of the Berlin Wall. As a young company, NOMOS built watches using off-the-shelf Swiss calibers before later going fully in-house in 2005. Since then, NOMOS has remained independent, able to conduct business and build watches in its own way. With a collection that emphasizes Bauhaus design principles, has a distinctly German feel, and presents a powerful value proposition considering its in-house calibers, NOMOS is a charming German brand worth knowing.
