Short on Time

The latest Rowing Blazers x Wind Vintage x Seiko collaboration revives the 1969 Rally Diver with two colorful Seiko 5 Sports models.

I think it's safe to say that in the year of our Lord and Savior 2026, we are reaching peak watch collab territory. Just in the past few months alone, we’ve seen AP team up with Swatch, Hamilton take on another Nolan film, and now, the behemoth trio of Seiko, Rowing Blazers, and Wind Vintage reunite forces for another limited edition release. After a multi-year hiatus, the dream team is back in action, launching the latest limited-edition Rowing Blazers x Wind Vintage x Seiko 5 Sports SRPM19 & SRPM21. For the fourth installment of this meeting of minds, this release ushers in two distinct color palettes in two sizing options.

The Collaboration

To run back in the recent historical timeline a bit, the trio's first collaboration launched to much fanfare from the enthusiast community back in 2021 (though Eric Wind reportedly made the introduction to Rowing Blazers back in 2017). The original collaboration serves as somewhat of the blueprint for this fourth installment released today, specifically the “Rally Diver” bezel model SRPG49. A huge part of the continuous success of the collaboration is the unique point of view each piece brings to the table. With Wind’s vintage chops (which are on full display in The Art of Vintage Watch Collecting here), Rowing Blazers' irreverent take on prep-school style, and Seiko’s designs serving as the chosen vehicle. It’s a union cooked up in watch enthusiast heaven. In addition to the checkerboard-style bezel, the initial collaboration featured an additional zig-zag and multicolor countdown bezel design.

Though Wind has been working more so in the background in the previous editions of the collaboration (though no less instrumental in the process), in this rendition, Wind Vintage has been ushered into the forefront. While Rowing Blazers might be visible right on the dial, Wind’s fingerprints are evident across the limited-edition duo, as this design, like the 2021 collaboration, is a callback to the first vintage watch Wind ever purchased: a circa 1969 Seiko 5 Sports Rally Diver. In this vein, the caseback has been signed with the Wind Vintage logo, and the box the watch comes in also nods to the brand – a shift from previous collaborations.

SRPM19 & SRPM21 Key Details

At first glance at the SRMP19 and SRPM21, the connection to the original Seiko x Rowing Blazers collaboration is obvious (for those already familiar with it, of course). All three watches are spiritual siblings, drawn from the same source of inspiration (once again, the Seiko 5 Rally Diver from 1969). Where these new models make themselves distinct is in the details, most notably the punchy color palette choices and in the wearing specs.

We’ll start with the smaller model, the SRPM21. This model measures 38mm in diameter and opts for a deep green dial that, for me, also calls to mind old-school pool halls. The sloped minutes track along the dial’s perimeter incorporates the green hue, as well as the checkerboard Rally pattern on the bezel, which is the calling card of this collaboration. In addition to the three-link steel bracelet, this model comes with a blue nylon strap in tow, opting for poppy, very Rowing Blazers contrast rather than a monochrome look in this department.

The SRPM19 is our 42mm model, and, with that, is close to the sizing of the first collaboration. This is the punchy, almost Yves Klein blue of the duo, and, like its sibling, ties its chosen color into both the minutes track marks and the checkered bezel. As you might have already guessed, this model comes with an additional nylon strap, this time in a green similar to the SRMP21.

Other than a difference in size and stature, these two models share identical design DNA, largely in keeping with the Seiko 5 Sports collection with a few twists. The dial layout with its bubbly geometric pips and large triangle at twelve and the broad handset should ring familiar to anyone who’s even slightly familiar with the 5 Sports collection. Same for the placement of the date window at three o’clock. But, for this collaboration, the trio has gone for a subtle patinated look in the tones of the Super-LumiNova used across the dial, which reads as a warm shade of cream and complements the backdrop of the minutes track nicely. As another nod to the overarching rally theme, the central seconds hand has rally red striping. And, of course, the most obvious detail denoting the collaboration dial side is the Rowing Blazers logo printed just above six o’clock.

The Movement

Under the hood, both models, despite their difference in size, employ the same movement. Like its other Seiko 5 Sports family members, both the Rowing Blazers x Wind Vintage x Seiko 5 Sports SRPM19 and SRPM21 utilize Seiko’s stable 4R36 caliber. This automatic, 24-jeweled caliber has a 21,600 vph frequency and a 41-hour power reserve. Flip the watch over, and you’ll reveal more specialized details for this collaboration, including the aforementioned Wind Vintage logo, alongside a faucet taken from Rowing Blazer’s “Bath Club” motif.

Final Thoughts And Pricing

Now in its fourth season, this collaborative effort doesn’t seem to be losing any steam. In fact, I would say that in terms of its color choices, this duo of limited editions is where the Rowing Blazers design principles shine the brightest. For those who loved the 2021 collaboration series but weren’t able to get their hands on one for themselves, I’m sure that this will be a welcome opportunity to try their luck again.

There will be 2,500 numbered models of both Rowing Blazers x Wind Vintage x Seiko 5 Sports limited edition watches, which are priced at $495. These pieces will officially release on July 9th at 11 A.M. EST on both the Seiko USA and Rowing Blazers websites, with a selection of models available for purchase at the flagship Rowing Blazers boutique in New York City.
