A Firsthand Look Inside The Rolex Oscars Greenroom For The 2025 Academy Awards

Since 2017, Rolex has been the Exclusive Watch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and a sponsor of the Academy Awards, colloquially referred to as the Oscars. Much the same way Rolex has established itself as an institution in the world of watches, the Oscars are unmatched in awards season. The pairing makes so much sense; however, you may not fully be aware just what this partnership represents. As presenters take to the stage to deliver remarks, and hand over the iconic statues, they emerge from the elusive Rolex Oscars Greenroom, a name befitting a brand for which green is such a prominent color.

Rolex takes a lot of pride in the creation of the greenroom each year, and this year we got advanced access to the space to explore what the A-list presenters get to experience on the day of the show. Before we get into it, let’s first set the stage a bit.

This year, the Academy Awards will be hosted by legendary late-night mainstay — and watch guy — Conan O’Brien. They will take place on March 2 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Big news out of Rolex Land earlier this week was the confirmation that Oscar-winner Leonardo DiCaprio is now an official Rolex testimonee. He is not in the awards race this year, but he very well could be gracing the greenroom as a presenter.

The design uses textiles and tulle to evoke the sense of a mountain landscape through a contouring design motif. One side of the room showcases a series of cutouts depicting native species, with the furniture acting to complement the entire showcase.

Sure, you can chalk this up to run-of-the-mill marketing, but nothing Rolex does is normal. The Oscars are the Super Bowl of award shows, and to be able to platform the brand’s very real environmental efforts on a global scale is no small feat. Every single person that crosses through the Rolex Oscars Greenroom has an individual platform big enough to effect change. Rolex could have just taken this opportunity to dress the room luxuriously, but it’s amazing to see the integration of the "perpetual planet" theme at play here.

Of course, the space wouldn’t be complete without at least one watch, and a watch there is. Last year, Rolex sneakily hid a yet-to-be-released Everose Gold Day-Date in the Greenroom. This year we get one of my favorite executions in the Day-Date lineup: yellow gold with a silver dial. And of course, the classic Rolex clock adorns the wall. But that’s enough words. Without further ado, please enjoy this firsthand look at the Rolex Oscars Greenroom, just as Leo will see it on Sunday night.
