Hands-On With The Newest Rolex - The Perpetual Padellone

September 15, 2026

A new annual calendar moonphase from Rolex

When Rolex unveiled the Perpetual 1908 collection in 2023, it immediately stood out as arguably the most elegant collection in the crown’s modern lineup, taking over the role of the outgoing Cellini.

And while Rolex is rarely in the business of teasing what comes next, it was clear from the beginning that the Perpetual 1908 was designed as a platform that could eventually accommodate complications.

Exactly which complications those would be, however, was left entirely to speculation—until now.

Rolex has just unveiled a new model family that draws from the ideas of the 1908 along with a historical reference from the past, known as the Perpetual Padellone. This new model brings with it a patented annual calendar system with moonphase,  a new 5 Hz movement featuring the Dynapulse escapement, different case materials to top off the package, and a lot more.

We were fortunate enough to get a sneak peek at these watches just a few hours ago, so today, let’s take a closer look at the new Rolex Perpetual Padellone and everything you need to know.
